💓 Your Pool's "Heartbeat": Why We Monitor Your Equipment

Your pool's health depends on its equipment. We keep an eye on everything to ensure it's running smoothly.

Think of your pool's pump and filter system as its hardworking heart and lungs. Just like your own health, your pool's health depends entirely on this system running smoothly. If the "heart" (your pump) or the "lungs" (your filter) aren't working right, the entire pool fails—fast.

That's why a key part of your Pool Duck technician's weekly visit is a thorough equipment inspection. We don't just "glance and go"; we actively look and listen for the small warning signs that signal a problem is on the horizon.

Catching a small issue today, like a simple O-ring leak or a pressure change, is the difference between a minor, on-the-spot fix and a catastrophic, weekend-ruining (and expensive) breakdown.

Our Weekly Equipment Health Check

When we're at your pool pad, we're performing a multi-point inspection. We're trained to spot, hear, and even smell trouble before it starts.

1. The Pump (The Heart)

This is the single most important piece of equipment. We're checking:

  • For Leaks: We look for any drips or water sprays from the pump lid, seals, or plumbing fittings. A small drip can quickly become a major leak, burning out the pump motor.
  • For Strange Noises: A healthy pump has a smooth, consistent hum. Whining, grinding, or rattling sounds are early warnings that the motor bearings are failing.
  • For Strong Flow: We check the pump basket to ensure it's clear of debris and that water is flowing powerfully. Weak flow starves the pump and stops your pool from filtering properly.

2. The Filter (The Lungs)

Your filter cleans the water, but it needs to be "breathing" correctly.

  • The Pressure Gauge: This is our #1 diagnostic tool. A high-pressure reading tells us your filter is clogged with dirt and needs to be cleaned (backwashed or cartridge cleaning). If we let it go, the filter can crack, or circulation will just stop.
  • The Tank and Fittings: We inspect the filter tank itself, along with all clamps, valves, and fittings, to ensure there are no leaks or cracks.

3. The Heater, Salt Cell, and More

  • Heaters: We check for error codes, ensure it's firing up correctly, and look for any signs of corrosion, soot, or leaking water—all of which point to a problem.
  • Salt Cells (if applicable): We inspect the cell blades for calcium buildup (scale), which stops the cell from producing chlorine.
  • Valves: We make sure all valves are turning properly and are not leaking.

Peace of Mind is a Smooth-Running Pool

Our regular equipment monitoring is all about prevention. It protects your valuable investment, saves you money on emergency repair calls, and ensures your pool is always clean, clear, and ready for you to enjoy. A healthy system is a happy pool.
